Mulyadi was born in Tanjung Balai (Asahan), July 31, 1964. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Indonesian Literature (1987) from the Faculty of Literature, USU, graduated with a master's degree in Linguistics (1998) and a doctoral degree in Linguistics (2012) from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University (Denpasar). In addition to teaching at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU, Mulyadi is often invited to give guest lectures, become a speaker or resource person for seminars/conferences, become an expert witness for ITE Law cases, and actively write articles for reputable national and international journals. His research focuses on semantics, syntax, and typological linguistics. Currently, Mulyadi serves as the Head of the Master and Doctoral Program in Linguistics at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU.
